Christmas Fair at Canggu

Finally I was ready to introduce my products in Bali by participated in Canggu Christmas Fair at canggu club. We had fun serving, explaining the function of every product and flattered to hear people's comment.

 

The event was very well organized by A&N Production. Children fashion show from Em & Lu, into nature and music from JP's warung made that afternoon unforgetable.

 

Open a shop in Bali? Hmmmmm.....not in a short time. Last month Ria Leimena; my lovely business manager just moved here to help me prepare the workshop....still lots of homework to do.

 



THE HAMPTONS INSPIRATION

Living in Bali inspired me to create a collection with " beach" feeling

People always think Bali is an exotic place with lots of ethnic stuff, but I want something different.

Something modern but still has the touch of Indonesian Heritage....a blend of Hamptons and Indonesia.

Based on that concept, here's our new collection..." The Hamptons Inspiration".

Lebaran Hampers

Eid-ul fitr or Lebaran as we call it here, is almost here...

As a little girl, I remember it was the happiest moment to hear the doorbell ring and see a guy waiting outside with a Lebaran hamper in his hand. It's a tradition for Muslims to send gifts during that time. All packages were well decorated and it was really beautiful.

Now I live in Bali, where most people are Hindu. I will no longer hear the doorbell nor see a guy with a Lebaran hamper in his hand, but I wanted to keep those memories alive by making these Hampers.

I know of a lot of people who still keep this tradition, as it's a moment to celebrate and share their happiness at the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

The Wedding - Bitha n Darma

In my last article i was talking about making a wedding souvenirs for this beautiful couple. Well the big day was last Saturday 23rd June 2012 at Dharmawangsa hotel Jakarta. The story started last February when a beautiful girl came to our shop one afternoon, fell in love with our decoration theme ( it was Shabby chic). She said that's exactly what she had in mind for the decoration of her wedding reception. She asked us if we could do it for her. Well we are not a wedding decorator but we could help her making the concept and working together with wedding decorator. 

 

The result

 She agreed and we started making the concept. The theme she wanted was Javanese shabby chic, carnival for the music lounge and gallery where she could display the art work of her friends.

We worked together with Lotus Design for the whole decoration properties and Yunita for the flower arrangement. The result was extremely succeed. What was more important for us The Bride and The Groom and their family were satisfied and happy. The text messages we received the day after made all the tiredness worthed.

Coffee Morning at Tan Living

Yesterday we invited our costumer for coffee morning at our new little studio and to catch up. We keep them updated with our new items, especially our new apothecary line GALICIA. The morning was a merry affair, not only they were enjoying our Spanish and Indonesian snacks ( croquettas and lumpia) but they got to go home with our token of appreciation. 15% discount card that is valid until 31 December2012. Thank you for your continuous support ladies......

wedding souvenirs

We just finished producing wedding souvenirs for 2 of our costumers. For the scented pillow we also create a special scent for her, a combination of nareli, lemongrass, and blueberry...fun, fruity and very summer...match to her fun and colorful fabric for her scented pillow.

 The other one is decorated tin candles with beads and tassel.which gives the etnic elegence feeling to it.

To both of them ...WISH YOU ALL HAPPINESS IN THE WORLD

I'm preparing home accessories for Tan Living's Summer Collections.  This time I picked "bohemian" as a Theme and thatbohemiangirl really inspired me.

COSTUMIZED PASSPORT HOLDER

My niece is getting married and will spend 1 month travelling around the world for their honeymoon. I'm sure this lovely passport holder will add a sweet touch to their memorable trip. The good thing...I could order it by email, ask the shop to embroidered her name and send it to her. She will be surprised....

Valentine's dinner

Valentine's day is coming. Well....... the truth is, My husband and I never really celebrate it...everyday is "Valentine" for us :-) but since this year is going to be our 15th anniversary I would like to do something different and...Valentine's day is a perfect moment to celebrate our "journey" together for 15 years by having spcecial dinner with him.
I don't want to prepare something fancy, i just want simple but sweet. The "flower" theme on this dinner setting is perfect for that day...and add some flower at our hanging lamp on top of the dining table make the scene complete, don't you think?

Cozy Corner : Contemporary Traditional

After a hectic day at the office, nothing better than zipping a glass of wine, listening to the music and read.... For me having this cozy corner in my house is a must, so I could indulge myself even only for 5 minutes before my kids start looking for me.....

Elegant Home Office

I like the idea of this home-office. The contemporary classic collection from tabu for Tan Living are so elegant and black is one of my favorite color.

A walk in Santiago de Compostela

Today we went to have a walk at the old area in Santiago the Compostela. It's always been my favorite city since the first time i visited Spain almost 19 years ago.  The charm of old buildings with modern interior design inside the stores and restaurant always been impressed me.  It's a perfect blend between old and modernity.

We stopped at this restaurant ( what a pity I forget it's name)...it's inside a beautiful old building. The big red hanging lamps gives a touch of modern look that as I said........blend very well. The food...also a "blend" of traditional spanish food with a modern touch. So yummy....
